Nyambura, the powerhouse with a brain for economics and a heart for adventure. Armed with a Bachelors and Masters in Economics, she kickstarted her research odyssey at Steadman Group (now Ipsos), where she fine-tuned her skills in decoding the enigma of consumer behavior. But that was just the beginning of her journey. In January 2011, she jumped into the fizzy world of Coca-Cola, and for the next 12.5 years, Nyambura was on a rollercoaster of roles - from Research and Strategy to Revenue Growth Manager, Channel and Commercial. Passport in hand, she jet-setted to over 30 countries, exploring the depths of Africa, from the bustling markets of Kenya to the vibrant cultures of Ethiopia, Nigeria, DRC, and beyond. For Nyambura, travels weren’t just about work; they were a blend of business acumen and an opportunity for global adventure. She's proof that you can decode consumer minds while also savoring the joys of exploration!
With a resume that reads like a travelogue, Nyambura decided to blend her FMCG mastery with a dash of tech magic. With a wealth of FMCG experience and a deep understanding of consumers, Nyambura joined Safaricom to head Market Research and Consumer Insights, leading a squad of 10 brilliant researchers and positioning her at the data command center. But Nyambura isn't just about numbers and strategies; she's a wife, a mom to two adorable bundles of joy, and a volunteer in Christian marriage counseling. Impacting people isn't just a career goal; it's a life mission. Working for Safaricom, a company with purpose at its core, only adds more fuel to her already blazing passion. In between decoding consumer minds, leading a dream team, and counseling couples, Nyambura finds joy in the simple pleasures of life - whether it's exploring new countries, making memories with family, or savoring the satisfaction of a well-brewed cup of purpose-driven coffee. As the Assistant General Manager, Market Research and Insights at NCBA Group, Rahab Gitau has the responsibility of developing research strategies, overseeing and guiding Group strategic research initiatives that drive high-quality research outcomes, facilitating brand change through insights and financial planning.
Rahab has held senior roles in banking for more than 15 years that have seen her develop skills in marketr esearch and strategy development, financial planning and modelling as well as data analytics.
Before joining Research, Rahab worked as a senior business development manager at CBA, Relationship manager at Cooperative Bank and Bank of Africa where she developed lending policies and formed a project finance unit that led to BOA Kenya being recognized as the fastest growing business unit amongst it’s 17 African subsidiaries. Her successful stint with the leading banks has enabled her build the cross-sectional knowledge, skills, experience, broad consumer perspective and networks needed to excel in her current role.
She holds an MBA inProject Management, Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics and is a Certified Public Accountant of Kenya.
Aside from all the mathematics, she enjoys nature photography, creating musical harmonies, watching comedies and taking ginger tea.
